NEW YORK, New York –September 13, 2010 – Former No. 1 ranked golfers Greg Norman, David Duval and Vijay Singh have added their support to help endangered wildlife impacted among the ecologically damaged marshes of the Gulf of Mexico resulting from BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion off the Louisiana coast in April.

Norman, Duval, and Singh, along with New York-based Falconhead Capital, LLC, Chairman, David Moross and The PGA TOUR – “Golfers for the Gulf” – have teamed up to fund the purchase a specially-designed skiff known as a Shallow Water Attention Terminal (S.W.A.T). The boats are specifically manufactured by Dragonfly Boatworks in Vero Beach, FL to penetrate the ecologically sensitive gulf marsh and will be used to rescue at-risk wildlife as well as perform vital ongoing monitoring and testing of critical areas impacted by the spill. The boats have been adapted to provide a specialty treatment tables, cooling and rinsing systems for distressed wildlife, GPS tracking capability for scientific research and wi-fi capability for educational purposes.

“Thankfully, the leak has been stopped, but the threat to wildlife will continue for quite some time,” says Norman. “These boats are ideally suited to reach animals and birds in those remote marshes and their ability to help biologists monitor the wildlife situation and other ecological stresses on an ongoing basis is also invaluable.

” The SWAT boat will be donated to the Southeastern Wildlife Conservation Group (SWCG) and will join others already in service in the Gulf. SWCG is a non-profit organization created with a mission to protect, conserve and reclaim the Southeastern United States diminishing wildlife and their habitats.

“We are honored to have this opportunity to support recovery operations”, said Mark Langner, President of the SWCG. “Moreover, this boat will be a major boost to our environmental education activities when the need for wildlife recovery no longer exists. The SWCG will be forever grateful to the “Golfers for the Golf” group for their generosity and their interest in the natural resources of the Gulf Coast.”

“Golfers for the Gulf” was created by golf industry veteran and operating partner at Falconhead Capital, Charley Moore and Mark Castlow owner of Dragonfly Boatworks. “Mark and his team were quick to recognize the need and have done the heavy lifting to get the permission to get these boats in action. We are pleased to be able to mobilize resources in our business and professional communities to get more boats on the water, says Moore.
