Haiti Relief

Hello Treasure Coast friends,

By now you have all certainly heard about the devastating earthquake in Port
au Prince, Haiti. Details are still emerging, but it appears to have left
scores of people dead or injured and hundreds of thousands homeless.
Won’t you please join me in collecting food and medical supplies to send to
Haiti? Relief flights will be leaving Missionary Flights International in
Fort Pierce for Haiti all this week.
I have arranged for a collection location at 1110 U.S. 1 in Vero Beach –
directly across from Staples – where we will be collecting donations during
daylight hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
I have tents, tables and one utility box trailer so far for transporting the
donations.
We need you! Can you please donate an hour or two of time at the collection
location during the next three days?
If you have a truck or van, perhaps you can help us transport donations to
the cargo planes at MFI.
And of course, please consider donating food and medicine! Food in plastic
containers or boxes is preferred because of weight restrictions on the cargo
planes. Rice and dry beans are a Haitian staple, but all sorts of
nonperishable food is welcome.
Haiti’s hospitals and medical facilities have either been destroyed or are
overwhelmed with injured patients. There is a tremendous need for basic
First Aid supplies such as bandages, antibiotic ointment, rubbing alcohol
and over-the-counter pain medication such as aspirin and ibuprofen.
If you can help, please reply to this email or call me at 772-778-5250
(studio) or 772-539-2895 (mobile).
